About Me
I have completed training in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have supported adults of all ages with various issues including: anxiety and depression; grief and loss; relationship breakdown and divorce; sex and sexuality, gender identity, neurodivergence, chronic illness; life transitions (including perimenopause and menopause; retirement); trauma (including sexual violence); fertility, IVF and difficulties with conception.
I previously worked in Higher Education for 15 years and witnessed a growing need for mental health support. I found my interests in psychotherapy and counselling led me to pursue professional training in this field. My life circumstances have enabled me to find out the benefits of therapy first-hand, and I wanted to offer this to others.
I am a humanistic person-centred integrative therapist. This means I draw on a range of approaches to find what works best for you. I can tell you more about this as we work together if you’re interested. But what is key to therapy is the relationship you and I form. So, it’s important that I’m the right therapist for you and you feel comfortable with me. To find out, book your free 20-minute chat with me and we’ll take it from there.
I am registered with the following professional bodies: British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). This means I adhere to their codes of practice, ethical guidelines and quality standards, and you can trust that I’m an ethical practitioner.
“There is a crack, a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”
“I said: What about my heart?
He said: Tell me what you hold inside it?
I said: Pain and sorrow.
He said: Stay with it. The wound is the place where the Light enters you”
